📋 Short version: FamilyFinance is a personal finance tool sold on a lifetime license. It is provided as-is. We are not financial advisors. Use it at your own risk.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using FamilyFinance ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase or use FamilyFinance.

2. License Grant

Upon purchasing a valid license key, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the Software for your own personal or household financial tracking purposes.

Your license key may be activated on up to 3 devices. You may deactivate a device from within the app's Settings page to free up an activation slot.

FamilyFinance is a personal budgeting and transaction-tracking tool only. Nothing in the Software, its documentation, or any communications from us constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

You are solely responsible for all financial decisions you make. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified financial adviser before making any significant financial decisions.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL FAMILYFINANCE, ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

6. Data and Privacy

Your financial data is stored locally on your own device and is not transmitted to our servers. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from browser clearing, device failure, uninstallation, or any other cause. You are solely responsible for backing up your data using the app's export function.

7. Payments and Refunds

FamilyFinance is sold as a one-time lifetime license. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. Prices are displayed at checkout and may vary by region due to currency conversion.

Due to the digital and immediately accessible nature of the Software, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds except where required by applicable consumer protection law. If you believe you have a valid claim under consumer law, contact us at hello@getfamilyfinance.com and we will review your case.

8. Updates and Availability

We may release updates to the Software at our discretion. Updates may be provided free of charge, but we are not obligated to provide any updates, maintenance, or support.

We reserve the right to discontinue the Software at any time without notice. In such an event, your purchased license will continue to function for as long as the Software itself operates.

9. Third-Party Services

The Software integrates with third-party services including Lemon Squeezy (payments and licensing) and Anthropic's Claude API (optional AI categorisation). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any third-party service provider.

10. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual property rights, remain exclusively with FamilyFinance. These Terms do not grant you any rights in the Software other than the limited license described in Section 2.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, those laws may apply in addition to these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
