FamilyFinance stores all of your financial data — transactions, categories, budgets, and settings — exclusively in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your own device. This data is:
If you clear your browser data or switch devices, your data will be lost unless you export it manually. This is by design.
Purchase information: When you purchase a license, your payment and personal details (name, email, payment method) are collected and processed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor. We receive only your email address for the purpose of delivering your license key. We do not store payment card details.
License key validation: When you activate or validate your license key, a request is sent to the Lemon Squeezy API containing your license key and a device identifier. No financial data is included in this request. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.
AI Categorisation (optional): If you use the AI categorisation feature, transaction descriptions (vendor names and amounts) may be sent to the Anthropic API to generate category suggestions. No personally identifying information is sent beyond what appears in your transaction descriptions. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy. You can disable this feature at any time in Settings.
FamilyFinance does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or any third-party tracking technology. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar tools.
The marketing website (getfamilyfinance.com) uses no analytics or tracking cookies of any kind.
Because your data is stored locally on your device, its security depends on the security of your device and browser. We recommend keeping your device and browser up to date. We have no access to your data and therefore cannot recover it if lost.
FamilyFinance is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please do not use this software.
Because we do not hold your financial data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. For any purchase-related data held by Lemon Squeezy, contact them directly at lemonsqueezy.com.
To request deletion of your email address from our records, email us at hello@getfamilyfinance.com.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of FamilyFinance after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
